Unlike cultivated lowland groves, Azurean No. 1 originates exclusively from wild uncultivated olive trees (Agrielia / Kerasolia variety) growing at 650 meters elevation in Crete.
In response to the extreme mountain elements, the wild trees produce small cherry-like fruits containing extraordinary polyphenol concentrations—yielding an exclusive harvest capped at only 60 bottles.
